XANADU (1980) Olivia Newton-John, Daybill, VF+ condition

Movie Synopsis, Movie Poster, Artist & more

Xanadu (1980) is a musical fantasy film  and starring Olivia Newton-John as Kira, a muse who descends from Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, California, to inspire struggling artist Sonny Malone, played by Michael Beck, to fulfill his dreams of opening a roller disco. Along the way, Kira and Sonny encounter Danny McGuire, portrayed by Gene Kelly, a former big-band musician who joins them in their creative endeavors. Filled with vibrant musical numbers, dazzling choreography, and a nostalgic 1980s aesthetic. While Xanadu received mixed reviews upon its release and was not a major box office success, it has since gained a cult following for its charm, memorable musical sequences, and nostalgic kitschy cinematic experience. This movie is celebrated for its infectious energy and unabashed embrace of camp.

The film's soundtrack, featuring songs by Olivia Newton-John and the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), was more successful than the film itself, spawning several hit singles, including the title track Xanadu and Magic.

This is a beautifully presented Daybill poster created by M.A.P.S. Litho. Pty. Ltd. which shows the etherial nature of Olivia Newton-John's character.

What do your condition ratings mean?

While the industry does have a few condition rating standards, there is no movie poster condition rating system that has become the accepted standard world wide. This unfortunately makes condition terms vary from movie poster dealer to movie poster dealer. Terms like Mint, Near Mint, Very Fine, Fine, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor, seem to be universal to most condition rating standards, but most standards still lack definition about what and how many flaws/defects/damage defines a specific condition level. For more information on how Movie Posters Australia grades the condition of its movie posters, daybills, lobby cards and other ephemera please see out Movie Poster Condition and Grading page.
