Gem Mint is essentially flawless and perfect in every aspect as though it has just come off the printing press and/or guillotine without any handling. An almost impossible standard to preserve or maintain for older movie posters unless they have been stored flat as part of a stack of posters inside sealed archival materials and in a archivally controlled environment. An almost impossible grade to reach for older movie posters and only a small selection of newly printed posters could attain this grade.
- No Visible Flaws: The poster must be free from any visible defects such as tears, creases, stains, or discoloration. It should appear as if it just came off the printing press.
- Sharp Corners: The corners of the poster should be sharp and undamaged, showing no signs of bending or wear.
- Vibrant Colours: The colours on the poster should be bright, vibrant, and not faded.
- No Folds or Rolled Smoothly: If the poster was originally folded, it should be free from fold lines. Posters that were originally rolled should remain rolled without any waviness or curling.
- Originality: It should be in its original state without any restoration or alterations.
Mint signifies that the poster is in essentially perfect, pristine condition with no visible flaws or signs of wear. Again, an almost impossible standard to preserve or maintain for older movie posters unless they have been stored flat as part of a stack of posters inside sealed archival materials and in an archivally controlled environment. An almost impossible grade to reach for older movie posters but can be seen in a few newly printed posters.

This condition is more commonly the highest condition seen in older movie posters and seen more commonly in newer posters.

Moderate to Severe Corner Wear: The corners of the poster may show moderate to severe rounding, creasing, or small tears due to handling.

Fair / Good falls between Fair (Fair) and Good (G) condition. This condition is below-average overall, with severe wear, age, and damage. This grade indicates that the poster shows significant flaws and may have limited collectible value compared to higher grades.

Poor condition is the lowest possible grading and is given to those posters that are in very poor and unacceptable condition, often with extensive wear, damage, missing paper, discolouration, or significant flaws that greatly detract from the overall appearance and collectible value. The cost of restoration for a poster in this category may be very high and prohibitive due to amount of work required. Unless the poster is very rare, has great historical or sentimental value, these posters may be lost to future generations.
- Extensive Wear and Aging: The poster has substantial and severe edge wear, creases, folds, holes, paper loss or surface marks that are highly prominent and significantly detract from the overall appearance or may make the poster unrecognisable.
- Severe Corner Wear: The corners of the poster may be heavily rounded, creased, torn, damaged or have paper loss due to extensive handling and poor storage.
- Colours and Image Quality: The colours on the poster may be severely faded or discoloured, may have substantial paper loss, making the original image difficult to recognise and appreciate.
- Extensive Handling Marks and Damage: There are significant marks from handling, such as creases, smudges, stains, holes, paper loss or tears that are severe and affect the poster's readability or attractiveness or composition. Significant damage may include large tears, missing pieces, discoloration, water damage and/or staining.
- Originality: The poster may have significant restoration or alterations, such as tape repairs, glue residue, or other attempts to stabilise or improve its condition.
