Directed by David Cronenberg, Starring James Woods, Sonja Smits, and Debbie Harry. Folded as issued, some minor fold wear but in Very Fine condition.

Movie Synopsis, Movie Poster, Artist & more

Videodrome (1983) is a sci-fi/horror film directed by David Cronenberg, featuring James Woods, Sonja Smits, and Debbie Harry. Set in 1980s Toronto, it follows a UHF TV station CEO who uncovers a disturbing broadcast of snuff films, leading to a web of deception and mind-control conspiracy. It was Cronenberg's first major studio-backed film, yet it underperformed at the box office. Despite this, it garnered praise for its special effects, direction, and performances, particularly from Woods and Harry. Recognized for its techno-surrealist style and psychosexual themes, it won Cronenberg the Best Direction award at the Genie Awards and gained a cult following, solidifying its status as a classic example of body horror and sci-fi.

This poster was distributed by the National Screen Service # 830004.

Condition

Folded as issued, some minor fold wear but in Very Fine condition. These posters are prone to cross-fold separations (see images) and this one has 2 x small separations (approx. 5mm), but this would easily vanish, or restored, should you decide to linen back. For the age, this poster is still in fantastic condition!

Special Notes

Images may have a small 'MPA' digital watermark and this does not appear on the poster. Posters are being held by magnets in the corners to take photographs, so you may see some magnet and shadows from the magnets in these areas. The magnets are not included in the sale of the item.

What do your condition ratings mean?

While the industry does have a few condition rating standards, there is no movie poster condition rating system that has become the accepted standard world wide. This unfortunately makes condition terms vary from movie poster dealer to movie poster dealer. Terms like Mint, Near Mint, Very Fine, Fine, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor, seem to be universal to most condition rating standards, but most standards still lack definition about what and how many flaws/defects/damage defines a specific condition level. For more information on how Movie Posters Australia grades the condition of its movie posters, daybills, lobby cards and other ephemera please see out Movie Poster Condition and Grading page.
