Description

The Black Hole (1979) Maximilian Schell, Anthony Perkins, Daybill, Very Fine / Near Mint Condition

The Black Hole (1979) is an American science fiction film directed by Gary Nelson and produced by Walt Disney Productions. Set in the distant future, the film follows the crew of the spaceship USS Palomino as they encounter a derelict vessel, the USS Cygnus, hovering near a massive black hole. Led by Captain Dan Holland (played by Robert Forster), the crew discovers that the Cygnus is under the control of the enigmatic Dr. Hans Reinhardt (played by Maximilian Schell), who is conducting experiments near the edge of the black hole. As they explore the mysterious ship, the crew encounters Reinhardt's loyal robot army and uncovers dark secrets about his true intentions. Filled with stunning visual effects for its time and a haunting score by John Barry, "The Black Hole" is a visually striking and ambitious film that blends elements of science fiction, adventure, and existentialism, even if its narrative coherence has been criticized over the years.

What do your condition ratings mean?

While the industry does have a few condition rating standards, there is no movie poster condition rating system that has become the accepted standard world wide. This unfortunately makes condition terms vary from movie poster dealer to movie poster dealer. Terms like Mint, Near Mint, Very Fine, Fine, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor, seem to be universal to most condition rating standards, but most standards still lack definition about what and how many flaws/defects/damage defines a specific condition level. For more information on how Movie Posters Australia grades the condition of its movie posters, daybills, lobby cards and other ephemera please see out Movie Poster Condition and Grading page.
